BELGRADE (Serbia), June 28 (SeeNews) – Serbia has expressed interest in the launch of direct flights linking Belgrade to China's Beijing and Shanghai, the Serbian President's Office said.
In a phone call with Xi Jinping, Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic proposed the opening of direct flights from Belgrade to Beijing and Shanghai in the belief that regular air traffic would open new opportunities for economic cooperation, the President's Office said in a statement last week.
In November 2018, China's Hainan Airlines suspended the sale of tickets for its regular service linking Beijing to Serbia's capital Belgrade via Prague. Hainan started operating a regular service between Beijing and Belgrade, via Prague, after a 17-year pause, in September 2017.
