March 29 (SeeNews) - Serbia will aim to complete the construction of 50 km-long Kosevo-Trstenik section of the Morava Corridor motorway by the end of this year, infrastructure minister Goran Vesic said on Friday.
Construction work on the entire length of the motorway is expected to be complete in 2025, connecting the southern city of Krusevac to the Belgrade-Nis motorway, Vesic said in a post on his Facebook page following a visit to the construction.
In December, Serbia opened for traffic the 10.9 km-long Makresan-Kosevo stretch of the Morava Corridor, while in April 2023, the 16.9 km-long Pojate-Makresan section opened for traffic.
Serbia signed a 745 million euro ($804.5 million) contract for the construction of the Morava Corridor motorway with the Bechtel-Enka consortium in December 2019. The motorway will link European transport Corridors X and XI on Serbia's territory. The 112 km-long motorway will feature 88 bridges, 29 level crossings and 11 tollbooths.
