June 23 (SeeNews) - SAP Labs Bulgaria, a unit of German business software provider SAP, will add another 150 people to its team by the end of this year, as much as it has hired since the beginnng of the year, local media reported.
"If we extrapolate the current growth rates, in five years we will maybe have 2,500 or even 3,000 colleagues," business news outlet Capital.bg quoted Radoslav Nikolov, managing director at SAP Labs Bulgaria, as saying in an interview earlier this month.
In 2020, SAP Labs Bulgaria's staff grew by over 15%, Nikolov added.
Sofia-based SAP Labs Bulgaria, which currently employs over 1,100 people, is the eighth largest research and development (R&D) centre of the SAP group, which has 20 R&D centres in 17 countries,
According to information published on SAP's website, the group's Bulgarian unit makes strong contributions towards lifecycle management, user interface and experience development across the broader portfolio of SAP products and plays a key role in defining and developing the SAP Business Technology Platform.
