June 8 (SeeNews) - Romanian investing platform for tech startups SeedBlink said on Thursday that it has expanded in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and is looking to invest over 1.5 million euro in eight startups and double this volume in 2024.
The expansion is in line with the company’s strategy, as it has quickly established itself in Central Eastern Europe (CEE) and Benelux, with the DACH region being its most recent focus, SeedBlink said in a press release.
SeedBlink has so far contributed to the DACH funding ecosystem with over 1.3 million euro, with its portfolio including companies like German startup MK2 Biotechnologies, medtech company BrainHero, which addresses children with Autism Spectrum Disease and ADHD, Swisspod, a Swiss startup developing an ultra-high-speed ground transportation system, Fretello, an Austrian edtech company focused on guitar learning, and Tripmakery, a travel tech startup for large group bookings.
“Our official DACH presence is designed to accelerate investment in the region and capitalize on the highly active innovation and entrepreneurial landscape across all tech sectors, by opening access to the VC asset class to new audiences,” Eric Bartha, head of investment management at SeedBlink who will be spearheading the DACH market entry, said.
The expansion into the DACH region also provides an opportunity to collaborate with local venture capitalists,, business angels’ groups and family offices in order to leverage the dynamism of the German-speaking economy, with a focus on DeepTech and Life Sciences, Bartha added.
Launched in 2020, SeedBlink has so far mobilised more than 200 million euro into technology startups across Europe through its network of investors. In 2022, the co-investment platform expanded to Bulgaria, Greece and Benelux.
