September 29 (SeeNews) - Romania's consumer protection authority, ANPC, said on Thursday it has fined hypermarket chain Auchan with 750,000 lei ($144,800/151,580 euro) for various irregularities related to pricing, storage and sale of expired goods.
ANPC officials fined 50 Auchan stores in September, the authority said in a press release.
Auchan is a French retail group established in 1961. The retailer operates in Romania since 2005. Auchan Romania booked a net profit of 85.3 million lei in 2021 and employed over 7,900 people at year-end.
