December 21 (SeeNews) - Romania's transport minister Sorin Grindeanu said on Wednesday that railway operator CFR has signed six contracts worth more than 73 million lei ($15.81 million/14.89 million euro) in total for railway upgrades, to be financed by the EU under the Resilience and Reconstruction Facility.
The contracts concern works on the Marasesti – Tecuci – Tecuci Nord and Adjud – Siculeni sections, Grindeanu said in a social media post.
CFR was founded in 1880 and manages approximately 10,628 km of railway infrastructure.
Earlier this month, CFR said that it had signed 71 similar contracts worth 1.069 billion lei with local and Polish companies.
