April 7 (SeeNews) - Romanian home appliance manufacturer Arctic, a unit of Turkey's Arçelik, said on Thursday that it has opened a regional hub for spare parts in the southern county of Arges.
The warehousing facility will serve Arctic's operations in 15 European Union member states and 8 outside the EU, the company said in a press release.
The network will be expanded to include other European countries, Arctic added.
Located in Cateasca commune near the Piteşti-Bucharest highway, the new warehouse spreads on 10,000 sq m and has a storage capacity of 11,500 cu m. The hub became fully operational at the end of March.
The center will provide spare parts for all products sold by Arctic and Arcelik - refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers and air conditioners. The parts will come from Arctic's two factories in Romania - in Gaesti and Ulmi, as well as from five Arcelik factories in Turkey and China.
The spare parts hub is expected to significantly improve the speed and quality of the company's services in the region, with delivery times reduced by an average of 14 days. The warehouse also represents an advantage for the domestic market, which will thus have an easy access to important stocks of spare parts.
