July 23 (SeeNews) - The deposits of the non-governmental sector in Romanian banks grew 14.7% on the year to 438 billion lei ($105 billion/89 billion euro) in June, compared to an annual increase of 13.7% in May, the central bank, BNR, said on Friday.
Leu deposits increased 16.4% on the year, reaching 284.8 billion lei in June, compared to a 15.4% growth in the previous month, BNR said in a monthly monetary statistics report.
Foreign currency deposits increased by 11.5% on the year to 153 billion lei in June, after growing by 10.5% in May.
