The works for the 95.9 km-long segments are to be completed within 30 months, CNAIR said in a press release.

Financing is secured through Romania’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan, PNRR.

The project will also include the construction of 91 bridges and overpasses spanning over a total 12.2 km.

In addition to Spedition, the consortium also includes local companies SA&PE Construct and Tehnostrade.

The Focsani-Bacau is one of the four sections of the A7 motorway, which will connect Ploiesti in southern Romania and Pascani in the eastern part of the country.

CNAIR added that the signing of the public procurement contracts will follow the expiration of the period for submitting appeals and the settlement of all appeals and complaints made after the tender.

Founded in 1997, Spedition is part of the UMB Group. The company booked a net profit of 29.7 million lei, on a 1.33 billion lei turnover. At end-2021, it employed 42.

Tehnostrade, also part of the UMB Group, was established in 2004 and booked a net profit of 143 million lei and a turnover of over 1.22 billion lei. The company employs 2,259.

SA&PE Construct was founded in 2013 and employs 14. The company booked a net profit of 7.8 million lei in 2021, on a 1 billion lei turnover.
