July 4 (SeeNews) - A consortium comprising Romanian companies Tancard, Add Global Design, Lemacons, Oldroad Construct and Urban Profile Grele has won a 26.8 million lei ($5.8 million/5.4 million euro) contract to expand the trolleybus network in the southeastern city of Galati, city mayor Ionut Pucheanu said.

“Investments in infrastructure are just as important as acquisitions of new buses and trams,” Pucheanu said in a social media post on Wednesday. Galati is in the process of receiving 42 new electric buses, ten trams and ten electric minibuses, he added.

The infrastructure expansion contract has a term of 15 months, with three months allocated to the design stage and twelve months to the construction phase, the Galati city government said in a tender notice published on the public procurement portal earlier this year.

The winning consortium was the only bidder in the tender process. The offer price carried 40% weight in the total evaluation, while the site and project managers’ experience each weighed 30%.
