BUCHAREST (Romania), January 11 (SeeNews) – Most of the indices of the Bucharest Stock Exchange ended Wednesday’s trading session in positive territory amid turnover higher than the daily average so far this year. The blue-chip BET index of the Bucharest bourse added 0.17% to 4,378.45 points on Wednesday. The BET-FI, which tracks Romania’s five regional investment funds, the SIFs, and property restitution fund Proprietatea [BSE:FP], jumped 2.64% to 19,851.29 points. The composite BET-C dipped 0.18% to 2,632.60 points on Wednesday. The ROTX index of Romania 's 15 most liquid stocks, a joint index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB [BSE:BVB], and the Vienna Stock Exchange, gained 0.21% to 7,973.09 points. BVB's equity turnover surged to 28.6 million lei ($8.3 million/6.5 million euro) from 7.6 million lei on Tuesday as a total of 1.0 million shares, equal to 0.14% of the share capital of Romanian bank BRD [BSE:BRD], changed hands for 10.9 million lei in two block deals. Turnover from trading in structured products totalled 2.1 million lei on Wednesday. Trading in futures generated a turnover of 699,000 lei. Blue chip BRD rose 1.3% to 10.9 lei in Wednesday’s largest turnover of 5.7 million lei. SSIF Broker [BSE:BRK] led the blue-chip gainers, climbing 2.06% to 0.109 lei in 74,000 lei turnover. Drug maker Biofarm [BSE:BIO] was the top blue-chip loser, slipping 1.04% to 0.19 lei in 1,100 lei turnover.
