October 28 (SeeNews) - Romanian media monitoring company Klarmedia announced the acquisition and integration of local peer Media Image Group for an undisclosed sum, aiming to consolidate its position as the main supplier of media monitoring services in Romania and Moldova.
The two companies will share the same management team and their 65 analysts will offer services to a consolidated client portfolio encompassing over 500 companies, Klarmedia stated in a press release on Thursday.

The acquisition aims to expand Klarmedia’s client pool and geographical reach, Octavian Petrescu, Klarmedia’s co-founder said.
Klarmedia’s online platform offers technical solutions that aid communication and marketing specialists in identifying relevant information and mapping the local media landscape.
Founded in 1999, Media Image Group is Romania’s first full-service media monitoring specialist and has led the local market for over 15 years.
In 2021, Media Image Group had nine employees and booked a 224,089 lei ($45,982/45,835 euro) net profit, latest data from the finance ministry’s website shows.
Klarmedia was launched in 2015 and shortly after, multiple companies and public organisations, including the European Commission, Romania’s Chamber of Deputies, its central bank, Carrefour Romania, and Heineken Romania, among others, enlisted its media monitoring services.
Klarmedia, operating under the legal name of MSG Factory, booked a 1.35 million lei net profit in 2021, down 19.5% on the year, data posted on the finance ministry's website revealed.
