February 13 (SeeNews) - Romanian software engineering supplier Tremend said on Tuesday it has finalised the acquisition of U.S.-based web and mobile company 648 Group for an undisclosed sum.
Tremend has customers in 14 US states and the acquisition is an important step in the company's strategy to expand presence in the US, among other regions like the UK and the Scandinavian countries, it said in a press release.

"648 shares the same customer centricity and engineering culture with us and we are confident that the transition will be an easy one. Together, we will continue to grow our U.S.-based customer portfolio, by delivering enterprise solutions based on emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, and Blockchain," Tremend managing partner Marius Hanganu said.
Val Balanescu, the founder of 648 Group, will join Tremend as vice president for business development Americas.
With over 12 years of experience in software development, Tremend has delivered over 300 projects to customers from 15 countries on three continents. The solutions developed by the company have over 60 million end-users and serve leading companies in industries such as banking, finance, telecom and automotive, as well as professional and medical services.
In 2016, Tremend ranked 37th on the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Central Europe list of the fastest growing technology suppliers in the region, the highest position reached by a Romanian company.
648 Group has been delivering premium web and mobile platforms, for 16 years for a wide range of industries, ranging from advertising, real-estate, automotive, tourism, publishing, banking, to manufacturing, aerospace, and retail.
