Romanian Airline Carpatair To Launch Flights from Hungary's Budapest to Italy's Venice

BUCHAREST (Romania), November 25 (SeeNews) – Romanian airline Carpatair said on Wednesday it will launch flights from the Hungarian capital Budapest to the Italian city of Venice on December 7 under a code share agreement with Hungarian peer Malev.

Carpatair will fly the route ten times a week and will be the operating carrier while Malev will be the marketing carrier, Carpatair said in a statement.

It added that the launch of this route is part of its regional development strategy, aiming at further expansion in Europe.

Carpatair, a privately held Romanian-Swiss regional airline, has commercial and operational offices in 10 Romanian cities and operates 250 regular flights a week to 30 destinations in six countries.

The foreign destinations include Budapest, Duesseldorf, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Munich, Paris, Bergamo, Milan, Turin, Treviso, Ancona, Athens, Bologna, Rome, Florence, Verona, Venice, Lvov, Odessa and Chisinau.

Carpatair (www.carpatair.com), based in the western city of Timisoara, began operations in 1999. It has a fleet of three Fokker-100s, and 13 SAAB-2000s.
