November 22 (SeeNews) - Romania on Monday sold 826.8 million lei ($188 million/167 million euro) worth of Treasury bonds maturing in 2027 and 2036, central bank data showed.
The finance ministry sold 135.9 million lei worth of Treasury bonds maturing on April 28 2036, below initial target, central bank data showed.
The average accepted yield was 5.58%. At the previous auction of the same bond issue in October, the finance ministry rejected all bonds.
Demand for the T-notes, which carry an annual coupon of 4.25%, rose to 167.9 million lei from 125.2 million lei at the previous auction.
The issue will be reopened on Tuesday, when the finance ministry hopes to raise 60 million lei in a non-competitive tender.
Also on Monday, Romania sold 690.9 million lei worth of Treasury bonds maturing on October 25, 2027, above initial target.
The average accepted yield was 5.11%, compared to 4.49% achieved at the previous auction of government securities of the same issue held in October.
Demand for the T-notes, which carry an annual coupon of 2.50%, rose to 763.9 million lei from 581 million lei at the previous auction.
The issue will be reopened on Tuesday, when the finance ministry hopes to raise 75 million lei in a non-competitive tender.

Romania's finance ministry intends to sell 5 billion lei worth of government securities in November, including 600 million lei in non-competitive offers.
Year-to date, the finance ministry has sold government bills and bonds worth 48.6 billion lei and 1.65 billion euro ($1.9 billion) and has tapped foreign markets for 7 billion euro worth of 2030, 2033 and 2041 Eurobonds.
