Romania sells 206 mln euro of 2034 T-bonds, above target

June 13 (SeeNews) - Romania sold on Thursday 1.023 billion lei ($222.1 million/205.5 million euro) worth of fixed-rate government securities maturing on July 31, 2034, way above target, central bank data showed.

The average accepted yield rose to 6.86% in Thursday's auction, from 6.79% achieved in the previous auction of Treasury paper of the same issue held in May. Demand for the government securities, which have an annual coupon of 7.1%, soared to 1.24 billion lei from 606.8 million lei at the previous auction.

The issue will be reopened on Monday when the finance ministry hopes to raise an additional 75 million lei through a non-competitive tender.
