The average accepted yield edged down to 6.71% in Thursday's auction, from 6.75% achieved in the previous auction of Treasury paper of the same issue held in June. Demand for the government securities, which have an annual coupon of 7.35%, soared to 1.071 billion lei from 605.8 million lei in the previous auction.
The issue will be reopened on Monday when the finance ministry hopes to raise an additional 45 million lei through a non-competitive tender.
