November 6 (SeeNews) - New residential buildings completed in Bulgaria in the third quarter of 2020 increased by 11.5% year-on-year, reaching 879, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Friday.
The total useful space of newly built dwellings rose by 24% year-on-year to 358,400 sq m in the July-September period, the NSI said in a statement.
The highest number of completed residential buildings in the review period, 127, was recorded in Bulgaria's second-largest city of Plovdiv, followed by the coastal city of Varna with 120.
Houses constituted 73% of all new residential buildings completed in the quarter under review.
