Bulgaria is practically already tied to the euro through the currency board, said Prof. Raul Eamets during the Banking Today conference organized by Investor.bg, which took place on May 13, at the Inter Expo Center. The former member of the Supervisory Board of the Estonian Central Bank and Chief Economist of the regional bank Bigbank also commented that he does not understand why people are protesting against the euro and reminded that since 1997, Bulgaria has not had a financial landscape different from that of the other eurozone countries, as it does not independently control inflation or other economic processes in the country.
