N. Macedonia unit of Serbia's Mtel seeks to buy local Lycamobile

June 18 (SeeNews) - The North Macedonia-based unit of telecommunications operator Mtel, part of Telekom Srbija, has asked for approval to acquire the local unit of international mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Lycamobile, North Macedonia's Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) said on Tuesday.

N. Macedonia unit of Serbia's Mtel seeks to buy local Lycamobile

The public can submit comments on the proposed transaction within ten days from the announcement, the CPC said in a notice.

Mtel started operations in North Macedonia in 2021. Lycamobile has been operating in the country since 2016.

The Telekom Srbija group is offering services to more than 11 million customers in the region and Europe.
