PODGORICA (Montenegro), March 23 (SeeNews) – Montenegro's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by a real 4.0% on the year in the fourth quarter of 2017, following a 4.7% increase in the previous quarter, preliminary data of the statistical office indicated on Friday.
In the fourth quarter of 2016, Montenegro's real GDP growth was 3.5%.
Montenegro's GDP growth slowed down nominally to 6.4% in the three months through December 2017, from 9.9% a year ago, the statistical office said in a statement.
The country’s GDP totalled 1.075 billion euro ($1.327 billion) at current prices in the fourth quarter of 2017, up from 1.01 billion euro a year earlier.
Final consumption expenditure rose to 1.127 billion euro in the fourth quarter of 2017 from 1.083 billion euro in the like period of the previous year. Exports totalled 276.9 million euro and imports amounted to 752 million euro.
