Montenegro's pay TV connections increase in Q2

August 15 (SeeNews) - The number of TV connections in Montenegro rose by 2.77% on the quarter to 199,412 at the end of June, the country's audovisual media regulator said.

In June, the leading platform for distribution of radio and TV programmes to end-users in Montenegro was cable, with a market share of 34.52%, followed by DTH and IPTV with 32.90% and 28.94%, respectively. MMDS had a market share of 0.91% and the share of DVB-T2 was 2.79%, according to data posted on the website of the Agency for Electronic Media on Monday.

In the reporting period, the average cost of a basic package consisting of 75 TV channels was 9.72 euro ($11.4) per month.

According to the structure of additional tiers, sports and film channels had the highest share, the regulator said. The best selling additional tiers were the PINK and HBO tiers with stakes of 9% each, by HBO and ARENA with 8%.
