March 15 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's consumer price index (CPI) increased by 15.1% year-on-year in February, after rising by an annual 16.2% in January, the national statistical office said on Wednesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Montenegro's consumer prices went up by 0.5% in February, after adding 0.4% January, the statistical office said in a statement.
In February, annual inflation was mostly fuelled by an increase in the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, by 23.8%. Prices at restaurants and hotels rose by 16.3%, prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels went up by 16.1%, furniture, household equipment and household maintenance prices rose by 14.9%, and prices of clothing and footwear added 8.2%.
Prices of healthcare services increased by 7.6%, transport appreciated by 7% and alcoholic beverages and tobacco were 5.8% more expensive year-on-year in February.
