June 7 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's state-run motorway operator Monteput said it has opened a tender for drawing a conceptual design for the construction of a 23-km expressway linking the capital Podgorica via the southeastern town of Tuzi to the Bozaj crossing on the border with Albania.

The estimated value of the contract is 80,000 euro ($87,000), Monteput said in a public call issued on Wednesday. The conceptual design should be drawn within four months.

The goal of the conceptual design is to explore in detail all options and to determine the best route for building the expressway from the Smokovac interchange north of Podgorica to the Bozaj border crossing, the Montenegrin government said in a separate statement on Thursday.

The expressway will help boost Montenegro's transport links with Albania, as well as improve this region's connection with the Bar-Boljare motorway that links Montenegro's Adriatic coast to the country's northern border with Serbia.
