June 8 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's state-owned airport operator Aerodromi Crne Gore said on Monday it will resume on June 9 the handling of commercial flights at Podgorica and Tivat international airports suspended since March due to the coronavirus crisis.
"Tomorrow is the first commercial flight from Budapest, a little later from Memmingen. After that, on June 12, Montenegro Airlines will have the first flights to Ljubljana, and on June 14 to Frankfurt," Aerodromi Crne Gore PR manager Marina Miketic-Nikolic said in a video file posted on the website of public broadcaster RTCG.
"Then, we'll have further announcements - for Zurich, Paris, Copenhagen, Hanover, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt."
Last week, Aerodromi Crne Gore said it plans to partially reopen the Podgorica and Tivat international airports for citizens of countries with a maximum of 25 active coronavirus cases per 100,000 inhabitants as of June 2.
The list of countries which meet these requirements includes Slovenia, Croatia, Slovakia, Georgia, Switzerland, Albania, Austria, Norway, Monaco, Kosovo, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Denmark, Lithuania, Latvia, Azerbaijan, Luxembourg, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Israel, the Czech Republic, Finland and Estonia, Aerodromi Crne Gore said.
Montenegro reopened Podgorica and Tivat airports for general aviation flights on May 20.
