Ljubljana airport Jan-Oct passenger traffic down 82%

LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), November 13 (SeeNews) – Passenger traffic at Slovenia's Ljubljana airport decreased 82% year-on-year to 278,600 in the first ten months of 2020, hit by the air travel restrictions linked with the COVID-19 pandemic, data by airport operator Fraport Group shows.

Aircraft takeoffs and landings at Ljubljana airport fell 59% to 11,604 in the January-October period, while cargo traffic decreased by 11% to 8,424 tonnes, according to figures published on the website of Germany's Fraport Group on Thursday.

In October alone, passenger traffic at Ljubljana airport plunged 89% to 10,775, aircraft movements decreased 47% to 935, while cargo transport declined 5.6% to 861 tonnes.

In 2019, passenger traffic at Ljubljana airport fell 5.0% year-on-year to 1,721,355.
