July 29 (SeeNews) - German discount retail chain Lidl will officially open its 70 million euro ($78 million) logistics centre in Slovenia in late autumn, Slovenian media reported on Monday.
Construction works at the new logistics centre, which is located in the Arja Vas village in the municipality of Zalec, in central Slovenia, have entered their final stage, state news agency STA reported.
Lidl laid the foundation stone of the logistics centre in June 2018, saying the facility will spread on an area of more than 13 hectares.
The project aims to raise Lidl's storage capacities in Slovenia as well as to upgrade its business operations.
The German retailer entered Slovenia in Mach 2007 when it opened simultaneously 15 stores in the country's largest towns.
