August 31 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's trade deficit decreased by 11% year-on-year to 263.7 million euro ($314.8 million) in July, as exports increased and imports declined, the country's statistical office said.
Exports rose by 5.4% on the year to 42.6 million euro in the month under review, whereas imports fell by an annual 9.1% to 306.3 million euro, the Agency of Statistics said in a monthly economic report.
Kosovo's main export destinations in July were Albania, Italy and North Macedonia. Base metals, plastic products and food, beverages and tobacco were Kosovo's main export items.
Machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment, food, beverages and tobacco and base metals made up the bulk of Kosovo's imports in July. Most of the imports originated in Turkey, Germany and China.
