Kosovo banks net profit up 12% in Jan-May

June 24 (SeeNews) - The net profit of Kosovo's banks increased to 73.6 million euro ($79 million) in the first five months of 2024, from 65.9 million euro the prior-year period, the country's central bank said on Monday.

The outstanding loan portfolio of Kosovo's banks rose 13% on the year to 5.22 billion euro at the end of May, the central bank said in a monthly data release.

Deposits with Kosovo's banks rose by 8.2% on the year, reaching 6.07 billion euro.

The total assets of Kosovo's banking system increased by 8.8% year-on-year, to 7.404 billion euro at end-May.

The figures comprise the financial results of eleven banks. Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and NLB Bank were the largest among them in terms of assets by the end of the first quarter, according to Kosovo’s banking association.
