May 24 (SeeNews) - The net profit of Kosovo's banks increased to 58 million euro ($62.9 million) in the first four months of 2024, an 8.4% increase compared to the prior-year period, the country's central bank said on Friday.
The outstanding loan portfolio of Kosovo's banks rose 13% on the year to 5.14 billion euro at the end of April, the central bank said in a monthly data release.
Deposits with Kosovo's banks rose by 8.2% at the year in April, reaching 6.03 billion euro.
The total assets of Kosovo's banking system increased by 9.5% on the year to 7.385 billion euro as at the end of April.
The figures comprise the financial results of eleven banks. Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and NLB Bank were the largest among them in terms of assets by the end of the first quarter, according to Kosovo’s banking association.
