January 3 (SeeNews) - Kaufland Bulgaria, part of German retail chain Kaufland, said on Tuesday that it plans to overhaul nine of its stores in 2023, after opening two hypermarkets and investing over 40 million levs ($21.81 million/20.45 million euro) in renovations last year.
The retailer intends to continue its national expansion and the renovation of its hypermarkets this year in a bid to strengthen its position on the Bulgarian market, the company said in a press release.
In 2022, Kaufland Bulgaria refurbished 12 stores.
Kaufland Bulgaria has 63 hypermarkets in 35 cities across the country, including 13 in Sofia,
Its annual turnover is some 1.7 billion levs, according to the press release. The company employs over 6,500 people.
