The main part of the Japanese financial aid to Moldova is granted under the 2KR Project in Moldova. The project was launched in 2000 to improve the mechanisation of Moldovan agriculture through the purchase, through tenders, of modern machines and equipment for local farmers. Some 2,800 farm machines have been bought under the project so far.
