April 20 (SeeNews) - Investments in development of the 5G network in Croatia in the next few years are expected to bring more than 10 billion kuna ($1.4 billion/1.3 billion euro) value added to the country's economy, a research showed on Wednesday.
The annual net benefit from investments in 5G is estimated at 1.72% of GDP, according to a report on the effects of the development of the 5G network on the economy, carried out in cooperation between Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT] and the Institute of Economics Zagreb (EIZ), the telco said in a statement.
Croatia's telecommunications regulator approved in August 2021 the bids placed by Italy-based EOLO and local mobile operators Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT], A1, and Telemach in a public auction for allocation of national frequency licences for 5G mobile networks.
Hrvatski Telekom's shares closed at 193.50 kuna on the Zagreb bourse on Wednesday, up 1.31%.
