SOFIA (Bulgaria), June 25 (SeeNews) – Bulgarian digital map provider Naviteq plans to control a market share of 20% in the country by 2011, its chief executive officer Tim Buisseret said. “Our market share is very small at the moment. Realistically, considering that we have a product with the only locally produced map on the market, I think we can be looking at 20% market share by 2011,” Buisseret told SeeNews in a recent interview. Established in 2005, SB Group Corporation, trading as Naviteq, develops and maintains its own network of active Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) reference stations. Based on the GNSS network, Naviteq provides services for precise position determination for data post processing and in real time, including data for road network, districts, municipalities, populated areas, hydrographic network, relief, up-to-date address database and data for Points Of Interest. GNSS allows small electronic receivers to determine their longitude, latitude, and altitude to within a few metres using time signals transmitted along a line-of-sight by radio from satellites.
