March 28 (SeeNews) - Hungary is expected to complete by 2025 the overhaul of its 152 km section of the railway line linking Budapest with the Serbian capital Belgrade, Serbian infrastructure minister Goran Vesic said on Tuesday.
“We are currently working on the 108 km section [from Novi Sad] to Subotica, which will be completed in 2024,” Vesic was quoted as saying in a press release, adding that the woks on the 75 km section between Belgrade and Novi Sad have already been completed.
The high-speed rail link will reduce travel time from Belgrade to Budapest to around three hours, Vesic added.
Hungary started an upgrade of its section of the railway line linking Budapest to Serbia's capital Belgrade in October 2021.
