April 18 (SeeNews) - Home improvement retailer Leroy Merlin will open a 7,000 sq m store in Brasov, Romania, on May 13, the company said on Monday.
The store will be Leroy Merlin’s second in the county of Brasov, the company said in a press release.
The store will sell over 23,000 products, across the categories typically catered for by the chain: gardening, decoration, and a variety of tools.
It will be staffed by over a hundred employees, 80 of whom have already been recruited.
Founded in 1923, Leroy Merlin is a subsidiary of Groupe Adeo, an international group specialising in home improvement products. Leroy Merlin operates 800 stores across 15 countries and currently employs around 115,000.
Leroy Merlin’s Romanian branch operates 19 stores in 14 cities, with a total of over 3,000 employees.
According to finance ministry data, Leroy Merlin recorded a profit of 188.3 million lei ($41.121 million/38 million euro) on a turnover of 2.161 billion lei in 2020.
