Flights from Oradea International Airport to Bucharest’s Henri Coanda Airport will be operated daily, while flights to London Stansted Airport will be carried out on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, with return flights on the same days, HiSky said in a press release.
The airline has already begun selling tickets for its first two routes from Oradea.
"The [Oradea] airport has seen significant investment and is supported by a local administration and community eager for better connectivity. We have been operating successfully from regional airports in Iasi, Baia Mare, Timisoara, and Cluj for several years. This partnership is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate the potential here, as passengers always prefer air travel whenever the option is available,” said Iulian Scorpan, CEO of HiSky.
Last week, HiSky inaugurated its Bucharest-New York route, becoming the first airline to offer a direct connection between Romania and the US in almost 21 years.
In April, HiSky also received a licence from the Canadian Transportation Agency to operate regular flights to and from the North American country.
With a fleet of eight Airbus aircraft, including a large aircraft capable of up to thirteen hours of uninterrupted flight, HiSky operates flights from Moldova's capital Chisinau and the Romanian cities of Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iasi, Timisoara, Baia Mare, and Oradea to international destinations in Europe and the US, as well as charter flights to Asia and Africa.
