July 1 (SeeNews) - HeleCloud, a UK-based Amazon Web Services (AWS) technology consultancy also active on the Bulgarian market, said on Wednesday that it has acquired 100% of Bulgarian cloud software engineering company DataStork for an undisclosed price.
The deal, supported through an investment by London-based Business Growth Fund (BGF), is in line with HeleCloud's ambition to become a leading partner for public cloud services in Europe, the company said in a statement.

"The combination between DataStork's software engineering, artificial intelligence/machine learning skills together with our wide range of expertise in AWS and our growing presence on the European market will provide our clients with opportunities needed for becoming successful. It is expected that the acquisition will lead to better business productivity and an increased market share," Dobromir Todorov, CEO and chief cloud officer at HeleCloud, said in the statement.
Through its experience with big cloud systems, internet of things (IoT) and big data for international clients such as Bosch and Uber, DataStork is in the perfect position to expand HeleCloud's portfolio with high value added services in the field of cloud software engineering, said Doychin Yordanov, founder and CEO of the Bulgarian company.
DataStork will continue to operate under its name as a wholly-owned subsidiary of HeleCloud.
Sofia-based DataStork, founded in 2016, has developed a wide range of technical opportunities, covering Microservices, IoT, Serverless, DevOps, BigData and others. Currently, the company employs over 20 software engineers.
Last year, HeleCloud acquired the Netherlands-based open-source infrastructure specialised company OlinData for an undisclosed price and said that it expects to triple its turnover next year. HeleCloud told SeeNews at the time that it expects to achieve a 200% increase of its turnover in 2020 compared to 2019.
At the beginning of 2017, HeleCloud was recognised as Amazon Web Services Authorized Public Sector Partner, becoming an official reseller of Amazon Web Services for Bulgaria, through its arm HeleCloud Bulgaria. Amazon Web Services, established in 2005, is a subsidiary of US online retailer Amazon.
