July 20 (SeeNews) - Greece’s energy regulator said it has issued a power producer certificate to project developer Fos Anavras Monoprosopi MIKE for the construction of an up to 200-MW solar power plant in the Thessaly administrative region.
The power producer licence for the project will be valid for 25 years, running until July 12, 2047, Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE) said in a statement on Tuesday.

The photovoltaic (PV) park is planned to be built in Platani, in the municipalities of Almyros and Domokos, located in the Magnesia and Fthiotida regional units, respectively.
An application for the power generation certificate was filed by Fos Anavras Monoprosopi last month. It is still unclear whether the company will go solo to execute the project or seek to tie up with partners.
According to local media reports, Fos Anavras Monoprosopi MIKE was set up last month with the aim of producing electricity from solar plants.
By 2030, Greece aims to reach a 61% share of renewables in its power consumption. Last year, the country shortened the licensing process for renewable energy projects and is planning to hold a series of auctions for new capacity in the 2022-2025 period.
