January 30 (SeeNews) - Greek coffeehouse chain Mikel Coffee Company has opened its first store in Serbia, in the capital city of Belgrade, regional media reported.
The move is part of the company’s expansion strategy in the Balkans, where it already operates 49 stores across Bulgaria, Cyprus, North Macedonia, Romania and Turkey, news outlet World Coffee Portal reported last week.
Serbia has an independent-led coffee shop market, with just six branded chains operating a total of 140 outlets.
Established in 2008, Larissa-based Mikel Coffee has more than 350 stores in Greece and abroad.
