April 15 (SeeNews) - French do-it-yourself (DIY) construction, decorations and gardening retailer Leroy Merlin will open its a new store in Romania on May 14, it said on Thursday.
Located in the southern city of Targoviste, the new store will have a total area of 10,000 sq m and will offer over 25,000 products for sale, Leroy Merlin said in a press release.
The store will have over 100 employees, of whom 85 have already been recruited.
"This new opening is part of our strategy to accelerate the expansion of the Leroy Merlin network of units locally, through which we aim to become a leader in the DIY market in Romania ", Leroy Merlin Romania CEO Frédéric Lamy said.
The Targoviste store will be Leroy Merlin's 19th unit in Romania. The retailer currently has 2,000 employees in Romania in 13 cities.
Leroy Merlin owns 800 stores in 15 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America, employing over 115,000.
