Bouygues is already involved in the upgrade of the Zagreb-based airport and in the Gruz port project in Croatia's Dubrovnik, but is looking to take-on additional infrastructure projects, prime minister Tihomir Oreskovic said, as quoted in a government press release following a meeting with French counterpart Manuel Valls on Monday in Paris.

A public tender will be launched and the company with the best offer will be chosen for the project, Oreskovic added.

The Peljesac bridge is set to connect Croatia's namesake peninsula with its mainland by spanning a bay in the Adriatic shared by Croatia and Bosnia.

The Peljesac bridge has been planned since 2007, however political bickering delayed its construction several times. According to media reports, Bosnia too has voiced concerns that the bridge may disrupt its access to international waters.
