April 30 (SeeNews) - Foreign tourist arrivals to Turkey fell in March by 67.73% on the year to 718,097, provisional data by the tourism ministry showed.
A total of 4.24 million international visitors arrived in Turkey in the first three months of 2020, down 22.1% compared with the same period of 2019, figures showed.
The province of Istanbul attracted 374,101 foreign visitors, or some 52% of all international arrivals in March.
Edirne followed with 104,914 visitors or 14.61% of the total number. Antalya came in third, attracting 103,919 international visitors, or 14.47% of all foreign tourist arrivals.
Tourists from Bulgaria accounted for 10.96% of all foreign arrivals, with the number of visitors from this country reaching 78,677 in the month under review.
In March, Turkey attracted 78,380 visitors from Russia, or 10.91% of the total number of international tourists, and 74,761 from Germany, or 10.41% of the total figure.
