October 14 (SeeNews) - Foreign tourist arrivals to North Macedonia totalled 74,673 in August, compared with 55,101 in the same month last year, the country's statistical office said on Friday. The number of overnights spent by foreign tourists in North Macedonia rose to 186,557 from 134,197 in August 2021, Makstat said in a statement. Out of the total number of foreign tourists who visited North Macedonia in August, 14.8% came from Turkey, 9.8% from Serbia and 7.5% from Poland. Domestic tourists numbered 116,182 in August, down from 129,024 in August 2021, as they spent 648,459, down from 686,066 a year earlier.
