January 27 (SeeNews) - The number of foreign tourist arrivals to Bosnia's Serb Republic increased by 8.3% on the year, reaching 218,867 in 2019, the entity's statistical office said on Monday.
In December alone, the number of foreign tourists who visited Bosnia's Serb Republic increased by 14% year-on-year, reaching 14,221, the statistical office said in a statement.
Foreign tourists spent 506,040 overnights in the Serb Republic in 2019, up 7.5%, and 36,341 overnights in December alone, up 14.8% year-on-year.
In December, the total number of tourists who visited the Serb Republic increased by 3.9% to 29,054. Total tourist overnights rose 6.9% on the year to 69,860.
Most foreign tourists who visited the Serb Republic in December - 4,899, came from neighbouring Serbia, followed by tourists from Croatia, 2,937, and Slovenia - 2,282.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
