Foreign tourist arrivals to Bosnia up 81% in 2022

February 6 (SeeNews) - A total of 907,526 foreign tourists visited Bosnia and Herzegovina last year, compared with 501,945 in 2021, the country's statistical office said on Monday.

Foreign tourists spent 1.987 million overnights in Bosnia in 2022, up 65.4% on the year, Bosnia's Agency for Statistics said in an annual report.

The total number of tourists who visited the country was 1.464 million last year, up 50.7% on the year. Total tourist overnights increased 41.4% to 3.2 million.

Last year, most foreign visitors to Bosnia and Herzegovina came from Serbia (141,919) followed by tourists from Croatia (128,778), and Turkey (62,392)

Foreign tourist arrivals to Bosnia surged 153% on the year in 2021, according to earlier figures.

In December 2022 alone, 56,778 foreign tourists visited Bosnia and Herzegovina, up 32.8% on the year. They spent 119,429 overnights, higher by 32.8% compared to December 2021.
