Foreign tourist arrivals to Bosnia up 29% y/y in 2023

February 9 (SeeNews) - A total of 1.18 million foreign tourists visited Bosnia and Herzegovina last year, compared with 915,143 in 2022, official figures showed on Friday.

Foreign tourists spent 2.49 million overnights in Bosnia in 2023, up 24.3% on the year, Bosnia's Agency for Statistics said in an annual report.

The total number of tourists who visited the country in 2023 was 1.7 million, up 17.3% on the year. Total tourist overnights increased 13.2% to 3.6 million.

In 2023 most foreign visitors to Bosnia and Herzegovina came from Croatia (166,000), Serbia (149,000) and Turkey (142,000).

Alone in December, 61,050 foreign tourists visited Bosnia and Herzegovina, up 7.5% on the year. The number of overnights of foreign tourists rose 6.0% to 126,600.
