September 18 (SeeNews) - Finnish gardening and cooking products manufacturer Fiskars plans to lay off 140 employees at Slovenian glassmaking unit Steklarna Rogaska as part of efforts to simplify its organisational structure, Slovenian media reported.
"As redundancy planning progresses, we will work closely with our employees and employee representatives to ensure they are fully informed and able to consult on the proposals. Procedures and timelines vary by country and function," public broadcaster RTV reported on Friday, citing sources from Steklarna Rogaska.
Fiskars plans dismiss a total of 400 employees globally, in order to simplify the global supply chain organisation and increase efficiency, RTV reported.
Steklarna Rogaska, which currently has a workforce of 830 employees, turned to a loss of 5.6 million euro ($6.0 million) in 2022 from a 384,000 euro profit in the previous year due to the adverse business effects of the war in Ukraine, RTV noted.
