April 11 (SeeNews) - Starlink, the satellite internet service provider owned by Elon Musk's SpaceX rocket company, said it has added Albania to the map of countries where its services are available.
Albanians can now access Starlink’s high speed, low-latency internet, the provider said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, earlier this week.
Low-latency internet refers to a network connection that experiences minimal delay or lag in transmitting data between devices.
To access Starlink’s unlimited internet service even when on the move, Albanian users must first order a Starlink wi-fi router for 42,500 leks ($449/418 euro), and subscribe for a monthly fee of 6,500 leks, with a 30-day free trial.
Space exploration company SpaceX began launching Starlink satellites in 2019. By early March 2024, the constellation comprised more than 6,000 small satellites orbiting Earth at low altitudes.
Starlink's service is also available in other countries across southeast Europe, including: Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Romania, Moldova and Croatia.
