October 25 (SeeNews) - Croatian port operator Luka Rijeka [ZSE:LKRI-R-A] said on Friday its consolidated net profit skyrocketed to 8.2 million kuna ($1.2 million/1.1 million euro) in the first nine months of 2019 from 2.0 million kuna in the like period of last year.
Total consolidated income increased by 9.8% year-on-year to 139.3 million kuna in the nine months through September, while total costs rose 5% to 131.1 million kuna, Luka Rijeka said in a consolidated financial statement filed with the Zagreb bourse.
Luka Rijeka's total assets increased to 837.5 million kuna in the third quarter of 2019, from 810.2 million kuna at end-2018.
Total cargo traffic handled by port operator Luka Rijeka and its associate company Adriatic Gate Container climbed 5% to 3.6 million tonnes in January-September. Luka Rijeka's cargo traffic alone fell by 8% to 1.6 million tonnes.
Rijeka, situated in the northern part of the Kvarner Bay, is the largest seaport in Croatia.
